Father's Day Cards

Today I have 2 cards to share with you, the one for my Dad and the one for my father-in-law.

For my Dad's card, I used a recent Mojo Monday sketch.

Here's his card.

I used Verve's "Dad's Day" for the sentiment in the circle and Verve's "One Person" for the corner sentiment.  Both of them are stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  The dp are from K & Co.  I didn't have a scallop punch that would give me 4 large scallops on an A2 sized card, so I improvised and cut 2 small Nestie circle die cuts in half and slightly overlapped them.  I added little dots using a black pen all around the various panels.  The gold trim is a scrap from my stash.  The tails on the medallion in the sketch just weren't working for me, so I omitted them!

For my father-in-law's card, I used a great sketch from Andrea.

Here's Pete's card. (Sorry for the weird angle!  I was rushing to take a picture of the card before we left to meet them and didn't realize it was not the best of photos.)

The dp are from Graphic 45's "A Proper Gentleman" collection. Both the sentiment and oval frame are from Verve's "Dad's Day" and stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  I changed the scalloped oval mat to just a plain oval to make it less girly and used a MS border punch in place of the scalloped border.  I added a thin twine bow as a finishing touch.

Whew!  I think they came out manly enough.  I have such a hard time making "guy" cards.  I think I might go make something pink and flowery later today!  : )
Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings!
Sarah
