I was organizing my crafting space and found this VLV sketch from Charmaine that I ran out of time to do back in May. So I thought I'd use that as my layout basis since I had just a few pieces of one of my favorite papers left and I could use up most of them in this card. (I really am trying to use up some up my stash! Really!)
Here's the sketch. I ended up omitting the banner at the bottom of the oval as it just wasn't working for me!
The sentiment on the card is one of my favorites from Verve's "Beautiful You" and is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. After losing Mom so suddenly, it reminds me to enjoy life each and every day. I made some pink felt rolled roses using a Sizzix die called "Flowers, 3D" and punched some leaves with two different MS punches. If you've ever visited my blog before, you know that adding flower embellishments is a favorite of mine along with the colors pink and green! I also used my SU! photo corners punch.
I took a picture from the side so you can see the dimension that the roses give.
Thanks TSTR for a fun challenge and thanks for stopping by!
Blessings!
Sarah

ReplyDeleteI just love your card. I have been hoarding that same paper since it is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your story about your mother. Mine is gone and I try to share my love for her thru my roses. It is so true to live each day carefully and fully.
ReplyDeleteJust Beautiful, lovely papers and the roses are perfect!
