Sketch This! TSTR44

This week at The Shabby Tea Room, Pattie has given us a fun sketch challenge.

I pulled out my Graphic 45 "Le Romantique" papers and started playing with the various shaped cuts that were included, and settled on this dancing couple.

I distressed the dp edges and machine stitched around them.  I added a bit of MS punched lace border which is edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I added some beaded lace (from my stash), ribbon, roses, and a Prima tulle flower as embellishments.  This card will be going to my in-laws for their upcoming 57th anniversary in February.

Here is a closeup of the embellishments.  I think the tulle flower adds an interesting texture to the card. 

The only stamping I did on this card was my personalized label on the back.

Thanks Fairy Much

I combined 4 challenges on this card.  I used the layout from this week's Mojo Monday, the color combination from The Shabby Tea Room's lavender and lace challenge, at Cute Card Thursday, anything goes, and 7 Kids College Fund has a thank you challenge. 

First, here's the sketch.

Finally, here's my card.

I used "Enchanted Lily" by Pink Cat Studio.  The dp is by K & Co.  It was a pretty gray day here, so the lighting wasn't the best and it looks more grayish in the photo than in real life.  I distressed the edges, and added a little zigzagging like in the Mojo sketch.  The "lace" is a MS border punch and I layered some lavender ribbon on top.  The bow was tied with my Bow Easy.  I colored Lily with Copics and then just added a few roses to go along with the floral theme.

Here's a closeup of the flowers.  The biggest rose is a Prima and the others are Recollections.  I use a knitting needle to curl the wires on the little roses. The leaves are a MS punch.

The Shabby Tea Room - Chocolate Covered Autumn

This week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room involved this gorgeous cake.  We were to make a card/project inspired by the colors and/or theme of the photo.

For my project, I followed Diane's SCS tutorial to make a Kleenex box cover.  I thought that would give me the perfect base for recreating the cake using a MS drippy goo border punch, another MS border punch for the piped icing at the bottom of the layer, and a bunch of flowers from Michael's clearance bin.

I tried to get photos from all four sides.  It has really clouded up here as the afternoon has passed with intermittent rain, so I apologize for the photo quality.  I took multiple shots, and believe me, these pictures were by far the best ones I could take today!

The Shabby Tea Room Pumpkins

I had the chance to stamp this weekend, and I made 10 cards for HYCCT!  I know that I'm not going to get all of them posted tonight, so I'll probably split them into batches and add them as I have time this next week.  I'm happy to say that I'm down to just 1 previous HYCCT challenge card to go and then I'll be entirely caught up.

The inspiration photo this week at TSTR was this great fall scene of pumpkins.

I inked up a new C.C. Designs stamp and colored my image with Copics.  I cut out the image and then mounted it on a white oval and then on a yellow oval cut with Nesties.  The plaid dp is from DCWV's Fall Stack. 

The HYCCT05 challenge was to use twine on a card in a new way.  I crocheted some twine into a trim and then added some Favorite Findings maple leaves buttons tied with embroidery floss.
