I had the chance to stamp this weekend, and I made 10 cards for HYCCT! I know that I'm not going to get all of them posted tonight, so I'll probably split them into batches and add them as I have time this next week. I'm happy to say that I'm down to just 1 previous HYCCT challenge card to go and then I'll be entirely caught up.
The inspiration photo this week at TSTR was this great fall scene of pumpkins.
I inked up a new C.C. Designs stamp and colored my image with Copics. I cut out the image and then mounted it on a white oval and then on a yellow oval cut with Nesties. The plaid dp is from DCWV's Fall Stack.
The HYCCT05 challenge was to use twine on a card in a new way. I crocheted some twine into a trim and then added some Favorite Findings maple leaves buttons tied with embroidery floss.
Thanks for checking out my pumpkin card, and I'll be back shortly with another post!
Blessings to you!

More HYCCT cards
I finally had a chance to photograph a couple of cards that I finished earlier this week. The first one is for VLV October week 1. I picked this gorgeous cake as my inspiration photo.
Here's a look at the sketch.
I used plain brown cardstock for the card base and then added some texture by using a Sizzix and a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The sentiment comes from Verve's "Believe" and I added a bunch of flowers since they were prominently featured in the photo. The flowers are a combination of Primas and Recollections, all from Michael's. I also added a few punched swirls. The sentiment panel was cut out with Nesties and I sponged around the edges with Vintage Photo and Tea Dye Distress Inks. I used a MS leaf punch and sponged the edges of the leaves with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
The first card also fits HYCCT08 challenge to use flowers. It also fits ODBDSLC32 to use leaves, but I don't have a lot of leaves on this card, and I didn't use ODBD stamps, so I made another card. :)
My second card also fits 2 challenges, ODBDSLC32 and HYCCT04. The HYCCT challenge was four by four. Use a total of 4 layers of papers and then 4 different embellishments. The dp is "Jovial" from Basic Grey. It has a couple of different leaves in the design. I layered the dp on some red (layers 1 and 2) and then the mat and the stamped image are layers 3 and 4. For the 4 embellishments, I used white satin ribbon tied with my Bow Easy, a red rose, a pine needle border punched with a MS border punch, and a snowflake that I have had for ages. I used "Sing for Joy" by ODBD and colored the cardinal with Copic markers.
That's it for tonight. I'm hoping to find some time over the weekend to really get going on the HYCCT challenges. It's a worthy cause, and if that wasn't enough incentive, there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs!
May you be richly blessed! Thanks for stopping to visit my blog!
Sarah
Edited to add: I'm so excited to write that my cardinal card was chosen as one of the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge Award! Thank you!

Victory is Possible
I'm back with a second post today! I managed to finish my entry for Mojo Monday week 159 and combined the Mojo sketch with the HYCCT02B challenge at SCS.
Here's a look at the sketch.
Here's my card.
The HYCCT challenge was to make something inspired by lingerie, so I went with a MS jumbo eyelet punch (lacy), a white satin ribbon with a pink organza ribbon layered over it, satin edged organza ribbon, and some bling. I added the smallest rhinestones to the flower centers and used the biggest rhinestones for the flower center and as a trim on the ribbon. The sentiment, ribbon stamp, and the layered flower are from Verve's set "Believe." If you don't already own this set, now is a great time to buy it since it is on sale. Plus Julee makes a donation of $10 for every Believe set sold to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
I took some closeups.
The little ribbon is stamped in SU! Mambo Melon, and I used Versafine Onyx Black for the sentiment.
The set includes 4 different sizes of the flower, so I stamped 3 of them on pink paper and then the center on yellow to mimic the pattern in the Cosmo Cricket "De Lovely" paper. The yellow floral is also from the same CC 6 x 6 pad. I handcut the flowers and layered them using foam tape. I curled the flower edges a little bit, but it's kind of hard to see in the picture.
I used my Bow Easy to make a triple layered bow and added a little rose to it.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed evening!

SNTODBD19 Movement
The current Stamping in Time challenge at ODBD is to create a card with movement. We have the option of using a card style that actually involves movement or an image of a moving creature.
I decided to try to make a waterfall card which I'd never tried previously. I think that it would have been pretty easy to make except that I altered the panels to fit my sentiments and then I had to do a lot of figuring out just how exactly this is put together. If you haven't tried a waterfall card, try it! For what it's worth, my advice is to make your first one following whatever measurements are given in any of the various tutorials out there, and then once you know what you're doing, you can alter things for different sized cards and panels! I made my card 6" square. The dp is from The Paper Studio's 12 x 12 pad called "Faith."
I decided to use the ODBD set "Never Thirst." I hadn't had time to ink this set up yet, and I decided that the image and the 3 verses would be perfect for a 4 panel waterfall card. Here's the card as you start pulling on the tab to start the waterfall effect.

I used the stamped image as the front panel and then I used the 3 verses in the set as the panels. I stamped the Brocade Borders design (also from ODBD) on each panel and then added the verses. The panels are each 3" square, and the mats are 3 1/8" square. I used 1/4" scoring intervals for the waterfall panels as I wanted the exposed parts to just be white so that the image panel would be highlighted.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic markers. Then I sponged around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The borders and sentiment were stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.

Create a Scene - Christmas is the Theme and HYCCT
I thought that I wasn't going to meet the challenge deadline for this one, but I'm going to squeak in just under the wire! On the All that Scraps blog, the Magnolia Challenge was to make a Christmas scene. So I picked one of my favorite Tildas - I think she's so cute in her snowsuit with the fur muff, the holly trimmed envelope, and the finch stamp. They are colored with Copics, and then I cut out Tilda and the bird and placed them on the envelope. The sentiment is from an old C.C. Designs set called "Olivia's Birdies." I added glitter to her wings and used white Flower Soft for the "fur" trim on the hood edge and the muff.
I also made this card for one of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over on SCS. This fits the pink holidays challenge, HYCCT02A. The dp is Basic Grey's "Eskimo Kisses" and the pink is from BG's "Lemonade" collection.
I made a second HYCCT challenge card this morning. It's actually today's challenge which is HYCCT09, Let's Dabble in Some Scrabble. I may have taken the challenge a bit too literally, but I made a 6 x 6 card with words that I hoped would be inspiring and/or comforting to the recipient. The background is scored at 1/2 inch intervals using a Scor-Pal. Then I cut the tiles just shy of 1/2 inch and wrote the letters on them. A few flowers and a satin ribbon and I thought it needed something more, so I added the large pearls as a border.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

Know God Know Peace
I have one more card to share tonight. This one is for ODBDSLC31. The challenge was to include something with wings. So I went to the ODBD set "With Heartfelt Sympathy" so I could use the dragonfly. The sentiment is from ODBD "Peace." The layout is from SC300 over at SCS.
I stamped the cat tails a couple of times along the bottom edge and then colored them with Copics. The dragonfly is also colored in Copics and then I added some silver stickles to make the wings sparkle. I sponged SU! Bashful Blue and SU! Old Olive to add a little depth to the scene. The dp are from Basic Grey's "Capella" collection. This sketch was the perfect opportunity to use up some paper scraps. I need to get going on using up some of my scraps (one of these days!).
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Verve Fall Release Challenges for World Card Making Day
In honor of World Card Making Day and to celebrate the upcoming fall release, Verve Stamps have a set of 5 sketch challenges going on this week. I sat down with the intent of using up some specific papers in my Basic Grey "Lemonade" pack, and I am pleased to report that I was nearly able to use up all of those papers. All 5 of these cards feature BG "Lemonade" papers.
Julee provided some fabulous sketches for us!
For sketch 1 I used Verve's "Kind Words." The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and the flower is stamped in SU! Purely Pomegranate. I matted each of the panels and then added an organza ribbon tied with my Bow Easy and topped with a little rose.
For sketch 2, I used another sentiment from Verve's "Kind Words" stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. I decided to distress the edges a bit and then added some pearls. I used satin ribbon also tied with the Bow Easy and topped with another rose.
Sketch 3 features one of my favorite patterned papers from the "Lemonade" collection, the floral on the ivory background. This little leftover chunk of paper was even the perfect size without additional trimming! I used a sentiment from Verve's "Kind Words" (SU! Purely Pomegranate) and the leaves (SU! Certainly Celery) are from Verve's "Great Friend." I stamped the leaves once and then stamped again without reinking to create more depth. It's finished with more satin ribbon tied with the Bow Easy and another rose. I just couldn't stop with the roses on the bows once I got started!
Sketch 4 was really intimidating to me when I first looked at it. Yikes, a circle mat just out there on its own? I think I got it to work though. I used the frame from Verve's "Fabulous You" stamped in SU! Basic Black and the sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black is from Verve's "One Person." I cut the circle mat using Nestabilites. This time I used May Arts silk ribbon on the Bow Easy and couldn't resist adding another rose. I used Recollections burgundy rhinestones in the lower corner. The edging is an EK Success border punch. It really wasn't so hard once I got started on it. Whew!
Sketch 5 was perfect for using up some assorted strips. I did some zigzagging on this one, but it is nearly entirely covered by the blue floral panel. The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and is from Verve's "Fabulous You." This bow is also May Arts silk ribbon tied on the Bow Easy with one last rose. The ivory floral background on this card is the same as in cards 1, 3, and 4, except that it is the 6 x 6 version where the other 3 cards used the 12 x 12 paper.
