Verve Fall Release Challenges for World Card Making Day

In honor of World Card Making Day and to celebrate the upcoming fall release, Verve Stamps have a set of 5 sketch challenges going on this week.  I sat down with the intent of using up some specific papers in my Basic Grey "Lemonade" pack, and I am pleased to report that I was nearly able to use up all of those papers.  All 5 of these cards feature BG "Lemonade" papers.

Julee provided some fabulous sketches for us!

For sketch 1 I used Verve's "Kind Words."  The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and the flower is stamped in SU! Purely Pomegranate.  I matted each of the panels and then added an organza ribbon tied with my Bow Easy and topped with a little rose.

For sketch 2, I used another sentiment from Verve's "Kind Words" stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  I decided to distress the edges a bit and then added some pearls.  I used satin ribbon also tied with the Bow Easy and topped with another rose.

Sketch 3 features one of my favorite patterned papers from the "Lemonade" collection, the floral on the ivory background.  This little leftover chunk of paper was even the perfect size without additional trimming!  I used a sentiment from Verve's "Kind Words" (SU! Purely Pomegranate) and the leaves (SU! Certainly Celery) are from Verve's "Great Friend."  I stamped the leaves once and then stamped again without reinking to create more depth.  It's finished with more satin ribbon tied with the Bow Easy and another rose.  I just couldn't stop with the roses on the bows once I got started!

Sketch 4 was really intimidating to me when I first looked at it.  Yikes, a circle mat just out there on its own?  I think I got it to work though.  I used the frame from Verve's "Fabulous You" stamped in SU! Basic Black and the sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black is from Verve's "One Person."  I cut the circle mat using Nestabilites.  This time I used May Arts silk ribbon on the Bow Easy and couldn't resist adding another rose.  I used Recollections burgundy rhinestones in the lower corner.  The edging is an EK Success border punch.  It really wasn't so hard once I got started on it.  Whew!

Sketch 5 was perfect for using up some assorted strips.  I did some zigzagging on this one, but it is nearly entirely covered by the blue floral panel.  The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and is from Verve's "Fabulous You."  This bow is also May Arts silk ribbon tied on the Bow Easy with one last rose.  The ivory floral background on this card is the same as in cards 1, 3, and 4, except that it is the 6 x 6 version where the other 3 cards used the 12 x 12 paper.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
